Abi and I recently discovered the Disney movie 'Tangled'.
I bought the DVD for her in Woolworths a few months ago when it was released and kept asking her if she wanted to watch it. But stubborn Abi, wanted to watch her usual favourites like Toy Story 3, Beauty and the Beast, Dumbo and The Lion King. Finally, after my sister Louise chimed in how much she would like it, Abi sat down with me and watched it.
And it hasn't left the DVD player since. I can honestly, and almost shamefully say, that Abi watches it nearly every day. She is IN LOVE with this movie. We have the soundtrack on my ipod and on days when I say no to the movie, we listen to the soundtrack on the ipod dock, dancing around the house.
I'm a big kid at heart and love watching the movie too. The songs are adorable and Mandy Moore was the perfect choice as Rapunzel. My sisters and I can sing all the songs from Annie, The Lion King, The Little Mermaid and Aladdin, we like Disney movies in our house, ALOT!
I have no idea how long this obsession might last. Toy Story 3 was the last movie to leave the DVD player, and that was on high rotation for nearly 12 months.
The last song of the movie is probably my favourite. I love Grace Potter from way back and fell in love with this song even more when I found out she co-wrote and sang the song.
Have a fantastic long weekend, and if you need something to dance to, I highly recommend this.

Girl Crush
Anne Hathaway. Love her or loathe her. I love her. She is different to other actresses. She doesn't seem to be a show pony or diva or tart it up too much.
Rachel Getting Married is one of my favourite movies. I was stunned after watching it. Hathaway was brilliant in it. Other movies I've enjoyed include Alice in Wonderland, Brokeback Mountain, The Devil Wears Prada and Get Smart. I cannot wait to see her latest movie 'Love and Other Drugs'. Bride Wars was terrible, but Kate Hudson was a train wreck to watch.
She is hosting the 83rd Academy Awards in January next year which was an interesting announcement, I wonder how she will do. That role is usually reserved for much older and respected Hollywood anchors like Billy Crystal, Steve Martin and Whoopi Goldberg.

Girl Crush
I utterly love Winona Ryder. So does my husband. He's always had a crush on her.
I loved watching her in movies such as BeetleJuice, Heathers, Edward Scissorhands, Mermaids, Reality Bites and Girl Interrupted.
She was engaged to Johnny Depp for 3 years and has also dated Matt Damon and other musicians.
Although she took a 5 year hiatus from acting, she is back now and stars in 'Black Swan' with Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis to be released early next year.

Who Is Johnny.
This is hilarious!
I sing this song to Abigail ALL THE TIME, don't ask me why. She loves it. We watched a few minutes of "Short Circuit" when James was away on a business trip recently and she loved Number 5 aka Johnny 5 aka Short Circuit the Robot.
And this filmclip is just out of this world. I had to share it with everyone. I asked for a 2nd opinion just now and my husband said "Sam, this is by far the worst filmclip of all time!" BINGO!

The Romantics.
I love watching movie trailers. Although I don't get to the movies as often as I used, or as often as I'd like to, I love seeing the new upcoming releases and who stars in what.
This movie looks like my mind of movie. It reminds me of 'Rachel Getting Married' starring Anne Hathaway and Rosemarie DeWitt. The cast, the story, the location of the film.
I love Anna Paquin, Malin Åkerman, Adam Brody and Elijah Wood. I'm happy to see Adam Brody acting again after his massive absence after The OC.
I hope I get to the movies to see this.

Girl Crush
Another addition to my girl crush file is Natalie Portman.
While she has only been in a handful of movies that I like, I find her beautiful, engaging and sexy.
Portman has professed an interest in foreign languages since childhood and has studied French, Japanese, German, and Arabic. A vegan and passionate advocate for animal rights and environmental causes, she spends alot of her time dedicated to helping those without voices, like animals and disadvantaged children.
I loved her performance in 'Garden State' so much that it started my own love affair with the band 'The Shins'. And the film 'Closer' is a favourite of both mine and James. She is so utterly stunning in that movie. And she proved she can hold her own against a Hollywood heavyweight like Julia Roberts.
Anywhere But Here, Where The Heart Is are great films too. She stars in an upcoming thriller called Black Swan, where she plays a ballet dancer in the production Swan Lake in New York City.

It's Cookie Time!
The title is catchy. A post about cookies? Kind of.
I adore this movie, Troop Beverly Hills. I watch it every now and then, usually when I'm alone. J could never sit through it.
If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it, although WARNING, it's cheesy, it's 80's but the fashion is AMAZING. Complete time capsule of what was fashionable in the 1980's.
This is one of my favourite clips of the movie. I still know ALL the words to this song. And so do my sisters. We still sing it often. Perhaps a little too often.

Girl Crush
In terms of girl crushes, I have a massive, huge, gigantic one on Zooey Deschanel. She is adorable, devine, wonderful, delightful, talented, sweet and I want to know her. She sings, she acts, she is multi-talented. Her band, She and Him are a super cool, folk indie duo, check them out here.

Flashback Friday
After today's dramas, I thought this song was appropriate for Flashback Friday.
Also, watching Limah's facial expressions when he sings is just way too funny. Seriously, what the heck??!!
The Never Ending Story was the 1st movie I ever saw the cinemas. I went with my older sister Jacki and my Dad. I was terrified of Gmork, the werewolf villan. He was probably the most horrifying thing from my childhood nightmares. That, and Freddy Krueger. Great, now I'm going to bed thinking about Freddy Krueger... And horror movies... And the Ghoulies... And Pet Semetary... Wahhhhh
