Weekend Recap

Late Thursday night, my husband sugested we should head to the beach house on the Central Coast.  Friday morning, he had an early conference call with his boss in the States while I packed 2 overnight bags and off we went.

After a quick drive up the F3, we stopped in at Bateau Bay Woolworths and did some grocery shopping. Once we arrived at the beach house, into our cossies we were and headed to the pool. Abi is going through a phase of only liking the "baby pool" which is about 50cm deep and has a fountain in it. James and I sat in the big pool while she ran around cooling off. We finally coaxed her into the big pool but she held onto me for dear life.

The whole weekend was disgustingly hot but relaxing. We spent most of Saturday in the lagoon pool which has a beach-like entrance which Abi loves. We had cold showers. Applies lots of moisturiser and sunscreen and zinc.

Yesterday morning we all slept in till 10am, bliss. Then James and Abi headed to the beach and I relaxed on the sofa. Then I headed to the spa in the resort for an eyebrow wax and 90 minute pedicure. My feet are soft and my nails are bright orange! I loved sitting in the treatment room with my therapist talking about babies and beaches and girly things.  Most of the therapists know me at the spa because I'm such a frequent visitor. James and Abi met me at the spa lobby with an umbrella which was sweet because just as we walked out, a huge storm hit and I would have been drenched walking to the beach house. Abi ran home in the rain and loved every minute of it.

After my treatment, we drove home via the suburbs of Sydney to my parents house to say hello. We then all headed to the new house to see the weekly progress. New walls are being built, the butler's pantry frame is up and the plumbing is being attended to. We have an inspection tomorrow and I will get new photos then.

I'm 35 weeks pregnant today. I can't believe it. Sleeping is becoming difficult, my insomnia has ramped up a notch. So has my anxiety. But I know in a matter of weeks, my baby, my son, will be here. I can't believe it.

Photos taken on my iphone, so excuse the crappy quality.

New Years Getaway Pt II

More photos from our NY getaway.

Lunch at Wamberal SLSC.

Lunch at Avoca Beach. Not very sunny but VERY humid.

Another day spent at Avoca Beach. The rockpool is great for kids. A few places to eat right on the beach and lots of parking. A real winner for families.

New Years Getaway

A month has passed since we headed up to the beach house for NYE. We stayed for 6 nights which flew past so quickly.

Last summer we spent 3 weeks at the beach house, but this year James had to fly to Singapore for business and we had make do with a short getaway.

I was too busy relaxing to take my camera everywhere with me, but I did manage to take a few photos. Here are some highlights.

This is where we spent NYE morning. North Entrance Beach.

A very quiet NYE indeed. Not a soul in sight. It was a nice way to end the year.

Abi enjoying some icecream on NYE.

Norah Head Lighthouse. Beautiful spot.

My love and me.

The lighthouse + sun glare. Gorgeous.

Seriously pretty place. Perfect weather helped too.

Winter Weekend Getaway

North Entrance Beach

Midday Friday we headed up to the family beach house on the Central Coast.

I love the Central Coast. It gets a pretty bad rap, but we think it's lovely. Little quaint towns, lakes, beaches, good food and a slower pace of life.

Abi loves the beach house so much. The beach house is in a development with a golf course and facilities, so we have an indoor pool, club house and best of all, a day spa at our disposal.

Silly me, forgot BOTH my memory cards for my cameras so I had to rely on the iphone for photos.

We ate avocados every day. We sat by the fire. We went for drives to the park. On Saturday afternoon, James took Abi to the indoor pool while I went to the Day Spa for 2 hours to have a deluxe pedicure and remedial massage. I sipped green tea afterwards in the relaxation room, reading spa magazines and enjoying some quiet time.

Yesterday, we soaked in the sunshine at lunch here, next to Wamberal Surf Club, a few minutes north of Terrigal.

Here are some (terrible quality) photos of my weekend...

Abigail playing with her beach house toys that reside at the house. Fire lit in the background, I want one!

Lunch on Saturday. I did grilled sourdough with bruschetta and avocado + lemon. It was amazing!

A very special toy. My mother-in-law bought this vintage 1975 Sesame Street set from ebay. This set stays at the beach house and Abi loves it so much.

Sunday morning at the park in Long Jetty, it was freezing!

Sunday afternoon - Wamberal Beach

2010...

And I'm only just starting my year now, in mid February!!

Due to taking an extended holiday over January, I feel like I'm starting my year now. I only just opened my fresh blank 2010 diary from Kikki-K this week. And because I'm slightly anxious (hmmm) I already feel guilty for having my head in the clouds since Xmas Eve, when I officially started holidaying.

Can you blame me though for extending my holiday when I woke up every day in January to this?

Am trying to keep fit and have pushed myself to exercise every day this week. I walked 4kms today with Abigail in the pram, and by the end of the walk, I was completely flushed and covered in sweat. Pity me, because I have to walk past a whole heap of beautiful, corporate attired, mid 20's women, who probably think I look like a candidate for The Biggest Loser...

Next week I have an appointment with a dietition to talk about making changes, eating healthy and lifestyle habits. I'm nervous and excited at the same time.

My Pop who had a serious stroke last week has been moved from intensive care to a ward. His speech has been affected and he can no longer walk for more than a few metres at a time, but apart from that, he is ok. I will hopefully visit him on the weekend.

J is off to Singapore next weekend for business. He asked if Abigail and I would like to go with him, which would be fun. I'd love to see all my Singaporean friends, but living out of a hotel room for 2 weeks with a toddler takes its toll... on everyone!

Abigail has just drifted off to sleep, so I'm hoping to have a cheeky nanna-nap while she is down.

xoxo
